TelCal is a calorie and nutrition tracker. It is available as a Telegram Mini App, on the web at telcal.pages.dev and as an Android app. This policy explains what data TelCal uses, why, and the choices you have. In short: your food diary stays on your device, meal photos are only used to estimate nutrition, and we don't sell your data.
1. Data stored only on your device
The following is saved in your browser or app storage on your own device, and is not sent to our server:
- Your food diary (meals, foods, amounts, calories and macros)
- Your daily goals and personal plan (sex, age, height, weight, activity level and goal)
- Your weight entries
- Recently used foods and app settings
You can delete this data at any time by clearing TelCal's site data in your browser, or the app's storage in your phone's settings. If you uninstall the app or clear the data, it can't be recovered.
2. Data our server handles

3. Services we work with
- Cloudflare: hosts the app and our server.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): analyzes meal photos you choose to scan. Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms for API customers.
- Telegram: sign-in inside Telegram and Premium payments with Telegram Stars.
- Adsgram: optional rewarded video ads inside Telegram, only when you choose to watch one.
- Google Play: app distribution and payments in the Android app.
- USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts: food search and barcode lookups. Your search words or barcode numbers are sent to them, without any personal information.
We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising profiles.
4. Payments
Payments are handled entirely by Telegram (Stars) or Google Play. TelCal never sees or stores your card or bank details. You can cancel a subscription anytime in Telegram (Settings → My Stars) or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions).
5. Health information
TelCal's calorie, nutrition and health score estimates are for general information only and are not medical advice. AI estimates can be inaccurate. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making major changes to your diet, especially if you have a health condition.
6. Children
TelCal is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
7. Your rights and data deletion
You can ask us what data our server holds about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us below. Data stored only on your device can be deleted by you at any time, as described in section 1. If you are in the EU or EEA, you also have the rights given by the GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
